Our Carers Hubs provide free, confidential and personalised information and support to unpaid carers. A carer is someone who supports a relative or friend of any age fitting at least one of the following descriptions: elderly and frail physically disabled has a learning disability has mental health issues has a history of substance misuse has a serious health condition Our Carers Hubs aim to make life easier for carers in a variety of ways; whether by connecting them with other carers, or providing free, confidential advice and information, or access to employment, training and volunteering opportunities. We currently operate two Hubs: the Reading and West Berkshire Carers Hub and the Wokingham Outreach Service. Our Hubs are funded by Reading Borough Council, West Berkshire Council and Berkshire West CCG, and Wokingham Borough Council, respectively. Our services Information, advice and support – available for carers when it's needed most. The team at our Carers Hubs are available 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday to provide information, advice and guidance to carers living in Reading, West Berkshire and Wokingham. We can either directly provide or assist you to access: Health and wellbeing support Free health and well-being memberships Access to carers breaks Access to carers support groups and peer support Free training and caring support Carers grants and much more Plus, you can find a number of other sources of information, including online resources, on our information and advice webpage. Events Annual events We run annual events for carers throughout Berkshire in celebration of Carers Week, Carers Rights Day, and Young Carers Awareness Day, and occasional other events dependent on funding and resources. These are aimed at helping you to access information and support relevant to your personal situation. Regular meetings We also host regular support groups, meetings and drop-in sessions. Due to the Coronavirus outbreak our regular events may be running differently than normal, for safety reasons. For example, groups may take place at different times or locations, have reduced availability, or even be held online. Please contact us for details of all upcoming events.
