Wokingham Young Carers Service

Are you a young person aged under 18, who cares for a family member in the Wokingham borough? If so, the Wokingham Young Carers Service is here to provide support.

What is the Wokingham Young Carers Service?

As a young carer, you'll probably be providing care for a parent, grandparent, brother or sister. There are many reasons people may need care, including illness or disabilities, mental health problems or problems with addiction to alcohol or drugs.

The Wokingham Young Carers Service offers the opportunity for young carers to take a break from caring responsibilities and:

  • meet other young carers and make new friends
  • access support and information
  • learn new skills
  • take part in fun activities, events and days out

How to access the service

Please contact us in the first instance. We will then come out to you and fill out an assessment pack with you, or send you a referral form.

Upcoming events

As part of our services we regularly provide events and activities for young carers in the Wokingham area.

Here, young carers can make new friends, try new things, gain information and advice if needed, and take respite from caring responsibilities.

Take a look at our events page to see what's coming up.
