The rationale for the rebrand was simple.

As of early 2020 Carers Trust East Midlands was made up of several network partners of Crossroads Care, Carers Trust and/or Princess Royal Trust for Carers.

This was because a number of mergers had taken place over a period of several years. All of the previously autonomous charities listed below had approached Carers Trust East Midlands to become part of a larger charity and further develop local services and support to beneficiaries:

Carers Trust East Midlands

Berkshire Carers Hub

Crossroads Care North Notts

Wokingham Outreach Carers Service

Carers Trust EHHR

Crossroads Care Reading

Carers Trust Thames

Crossroads Care South Central

Crossroads Care Harrogate, Craven & York

For the organisation to call itself "Carers Trust East Midlands" whilst working in areas outside of the East Midlands was inaccurate and confusing. So, in 2020 the organisation switched to a single, new name that was designed to reflect its work across all of its locations.
