Volunteers' Week is an annual celebration of the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering in their communities.

TuVida Deputy CEO, Jacqui Finn, talks about the vital support volunteers provide at TuVida

Supporting our work

"TuVida has 46 amazing volunteers supporting our work. Our volunteers bring range of skills, knowledge, empathy, and commitment – whether that’s providing governance and legal oversight as a trustee, supporting carers and clients with telephone befriending, helping with events and groups, or helping at our dementia day centre in West Sussex."

Welcome Kylie!

"We recently recruited Kylie Cook to join our volunteer Board of Trustees. Kylie brings with her over ten years’ experience as a talent consultant – supporting businesses to attract, select, recruit, and retain staff. She has great knowledge, practical experience an interest in the end-to-end cycle of people management and culture and she is delighted to bring this skillset to an industry with people at its heart. Kylie has also experienced caring within her own family."

Volunteers at TuVida

"One of our largest groups of volunteers support TuVida as volunteer telephone befrienders, providing a lifeline to isolated carers and the people they care for when they most need a listening ear. Our hub team are then ready to follow up with further advice, information, or support.

Our Nottinghamshire Young Carers service offers a range of activities for young people to take a break from their caring role. Our volunteer support enables us to offer a greater number of young carers these opportunities. They also bring with them lots of energy, enthusiasm, life experiences which the young carers thrive on.

Our dementia day centre in West Sussex provides a much-needed respite break for carers. Local carer Pauline recently told me that if it wasn’t for the club and the joy it provides her husband, and the day to herself, she doesn’t know how she would get through each week."
