To help celebrate Carers Week (7-13 June 2021), TuVida has a wide range of events available for unpaid carers across the country.

This Carers Week, TuVida's Carers Hubs have joined together to create a shared calendar of free online activities for unpaid carers.

Our Carers Hubs, which are based in Ealing, Nottinghamshire and Berkshire, have organised more than 20 virtual events which are available for free to carers living anywhere in England.

In addition, each of these local hubs will be hosting a range of further events in their local areas. The activities on offer include tutorials/workshops, talks, virtual exercise classes, and more.

The intention of the combined programme of events is to help connect carers. It also ties in with the larger aims of Carers Week:

  • to raise awareness of caring
  • to highlight the challenges unpaid carers face
  • to recognise the contribution carers make to families and communities throughout the UK
  • to help people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.
Making Carers Visible and Valued

The theme of this year's Carers Week is to help Make Caring Visible and Valued.

This year, carers across the country are continuing to face new challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Many people are taking on more caring responsibilities for their relatives and friends who are disabled, ill or older and who need support.

There are 6.5 million people in the UK who are carers. They need to be recognised for the difficulties they are experiencing, respected for all they are doing, and provided with information, support and understanding.
