Generous staff from the Nottingham branch of Ikea have donated essential kitchen equipment in support of TuVida’s Young Carers Notts service.

The equipment will enable the Young Carers Notts team to run cooking courses and offer young carers nutritious, freshly cooked food from the kitchen located at the Young Carers Notts office in Mansfield.

The donation was organised by Sarah Wall, Ikea Commercial Activities Leader and a former young carer herself.

Sarah said: “At IKEA Nottingham, we are dedicated to having a positive impact on people, the planet and being a good neighbour to the local communities where we operate.

“We aim to create a better everyday life for the many people and feel that by supporting Young Carers Notts we will positively impact many lives now and in the future.

Young Carers Notts service manager, Becca Robins, said: “We are all incredibly grateful for the amazing donation from Ikea. The equipment they have donated will help hundreds of young carers to enjoy fun cooking activities that give them a vital break from their care role.”

Young Carers Notts is a free and confidential service that supports young carers aged 5-17 who live in Nottinghamshire and the City of Nottingham to take a break and get practical advice and information about caring.

The service offers young carers a one-stop-shop for young carers to join group sessions, access short breaks, socialise with other young carers, take part in fun activities, and access advice support to help them in their care role.

Young Carers Notts is run by the charity TuVida.
